Pickup checklist

Before the truck arrives

  1. Confirm commodity, dimensions, weight, value, and handling requirements.
  2. Set a specific pickup window and named contact.
  3. Confirm dock, forklift, liftgate, ramp, pallet jack, and driver-assist needs.
  4. Match the driver, truck, plate, carrier name, USDOT/MC, and insurance.
  5. Photograph count and condition before loading.
  6. Keep the rate confirmation, messages, bill of lading, pickup proof, and delivery proof.

Stop and recheck when

  • The company name, phone, email domain, or payment instructions suddenly change.
  • The driver or truck does not match the information provided.
  • A party pressures you to move off-platform or skip normal documents.
  • The rate, equipment promise, or pickup story changes after acceptance.
  • The load is duplicated, old, vague, or cannot be reconfirmed.
